The scope included complete interior construction, mechanical and electrical upgrades, new joinery and finishes, and the installation of modern office furniture and branding elements. The fit-out was delivered based on Expeditors’ requirements, backed by Chest Constructions’ 30 years of experience in commercial office builds.

Challenges

The company is relocating from Welshpool due to an expiring lease. The move had to be completed quickly, with only eight weeks to vacate their current premises and set up operations in a new location. The timeline was tight, and the manager required a fully functional fit-out within this period, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.

Our Solutions

  • Design and Approval: We acted quickly, developing a design and drawing up plans for the fit-out. We provided a quote within a week of initial contact, which was promptly accepted by the client after receiving approval from their senior management.

  • Building Permit and Execution: After obtaining the necessary approvals, we submitted the building permit and immediately began the construction process. We upgraded their HVAC systems, lighting, and acoustic treatments, resulting in a more comfortable and quieter work environment that maximised both comfort and productivity. The job was completed in six weeks, with our team working efficiently to ensure the space was ready for occupancy on time.

  • Finalisation and Handover: Despite some long lead-time items like the upper-floor kitchen, we assured the client that they could move in soon by providing a functioning kitchen on the ground floor. Once these minor elements were finalised, the Expeditors team was able to settle into their new workspace. The client expressed satisfaction with the design layout and the support provided, including additional IT and Wi-Fi services throughout the warehouse.

Additional Services

In addition to the fit-out, we refurbished their old premises to prepare them for re-leasing or “making good” for the landlord. Additional upgrades were completed for fire safety, communication infrastructure, and accessibility compliance.
